ISB NUCLEIC ACIDS CORE FACILITY

The Nucleic Acids Core Facility provides microarray, sequencing, and quantitative PCR services, training and support. Consultation is available to all researchers at the Institute as well as external institutions and collaborators.

Systems biology approaches entail simultaneous measurements under numerous different biological conditions and time points. The Nucleic Acids Core houses various instruments to enable this high-throughput research. The microarray facility supports the Affymetrix, Agilent, and Exiqon platforms for RNA and miRNA measurements as well as an in-house spotter to fabricate custom oligo arrays. The sequencing facility runs an ABI 3730xl sequencer and two Illumina GAII for next-generation sequencing applications. Also available are three ABI 7900HT real-time PCR instruments and a Fluidigm Biomark.
